This contemporary romance is a steamy MMA romance filled with angst and passion between not one but two fighters who find themselves both in and undesired situation of working with one another.

Jack is the nephew of the gym owner who wants to prove himself worthy, while Rachel is an MMA champion but has an “Ice Queen” persona towards men what’s better than to put them together as trainer and trainee. Rachel is less then ecstatic to train the “pup” as she is training for her own fights, but she owes the owner a lot as he helped her with her purpose and flat-out homelessness. Jack who may be family but also has nothing to lose does not want to be trained by a girl.

What starts out as pure hatred between one another quickly forms into passion and lust with either being able to rid each others mind, as time goes on, they find themselves giving into the urges. Rachel who has a past with a former fighter does not want to get involved with another ever again nor one much younger than her. But Jack is relentless and continues the hunt whether she likes it or not.

“I grabbed Rachel by the shoulders, leaned her into the wall, and captured her lips with mine.”

Neither will admit it but there is something there. Faced with the dire ultimatum of either being together or being aloud to train in the same gym, they end up without a choice if her controlling ex has any say in it.

The author has a great way of describing the lust and struggles of both characters, immense detail and heated encounters. While reading its very easy to become emersed in each character. It’s a breath of fresh air having both main characters strong willed and stubborn there is no imbalance of strength both are equally fierce leaving an explosion when combined.

I wish the ending was a bit longer as it was built up then quickly concluded I would have loved to have read more. Though MMA romance is not usually my first go to for a sports romance this book has sure changed my mind.
